Cameron Boyce was a US actor and dancer, known
for participating in several Disney series
He was born on May 1999 in Los Angeles, California,
where he lived with his parents, Victor and
Libby Boyce, and his younger sister, Maya.
Since he was a little kid, he always showed
interest for dancing, and even tho he was
trained in different styles, he always felt
a special interest for breakdance.
So much that, along with four friends, he
was part of the breakdancing crew X Mob.
With the support of his family, Cameron started
to work as model for Disney products when
he was only seven years old.
His smiley face didnt take long to appear
in magazines, and a year later he started
to get along very well as an actor, appearing
in several tv ads.
One of his first projects was the music video
of “That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)”,
by the alternative rock band Panic! at the
Disco, playing a young Ryan Ross, the guitarist
of the band.
His skills in front of the camera didn’t go
unnoticed, and he was soon chosen for more
In July 2008, when he was only nine, he played
a small role for seven episodes in the series
“General Hospital: Night Shift”.
Some months after that he took the leap to
the big screen, participating in the movies
“Mirrors” (as a co-protagonist) and “Eagle
Eye” (along with Shia LaBeouf and Michelle
These jobs were for him to stand out as a
young promise, and he started to be contacted
for new projects.
One of them was next to Adam Sandler in the
2010 movie “Grown Ups”, a comedy where
he has, again, a quite relevant role.
But Cameron never forgot about one of his
other passions, dancing.
In 2011 he showed his skills in a “Dancing
with the Stars” show.
This opened the doors for him to, later on,
appear in the Disney Channel series “Shake
It Up”, along with the actress and singer
After he proved his abilities, Disney backed
him up and decided to give him a chance as
the co-protagonist in the series “Jessie”.
In it, he plays Luke Ross, a naughty twelve
year old teenager who tries to win over the
heart of the protagonist.
Even tho, originally, the character was really
different, the casting directors were so impressed
with Cameron’s audition that they decided
to adapt things for him.
From that moment on, his career kept growing
In 2015, he got another part, when he was
chosen for the Disney Channel movie Descendants.
In it, he plays Carlos de Vil, the son of
the famous villain in One Hundred and One
Dalmatians, and he was again part of the second
installment of the movie in 2017.
Unfortunately, his promising career was truncated
this past 6th of July, when the twenty year
old boy passed away after suffering a convulsion
while he was sleeping.
This came from an illness he suffered and
was being treated for.
Everybody was surprised by the news, and many
celebrities expressed their condolences through
their social networks.
Without a doubt, it is a great loss difficult
to deal with and assimilate.
But we will always remember that talented
and sweet boy who won our hearts over.
